Morbius | Review

Fuck this movie!

What a steaming pile of garbage. This is the lowest of the low, and most blatant representation of the state of IP-driven blockbuster filmmaking.

Morbius is a corporate-mandated mess of a film with post-credits scenes that undermine the entire film (though there wasn’t much worth saving in the first place). The acting, story, special effects, and overall execution is awful (that the film uses so many L Cuts makes it feel like there were many scenes cut from the movie, too). There’s no originality here. There’s even a scene that looks a lot like one from Batman Begins, even down to the music!

Excluding Tom Holland’s Spidey films, Morbius is Sony’s third installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (their version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe), after Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Sony is now three-for-three in outputting awful films.

The best thing I can say about Morbius’s release is that, after two long years of delays, we can finally stop seeing its trailers playing ahead every movie in theatres. There is no life in this cinematic universe and it shouldn’t exist. Sony absolutely has no idea on how to make these films and, at this point, they’re merely riding on Marvel Studios’s coattails.
