Director Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was one of the movies that made me fall in love with movies. ‘127 Hours’ was great too. And now he’s three for three with his latest film about an art heist gone wrong. Franck (Vincent Cassel from Black Swan) wants to find out where his accomplice Simon (James McAvoy) his a painting they stole. Simon can’t remember where he put it because he got a blow to the head. Franck gets help from hypnotist Elizabeth (Rosario Dawson) to get Simon to remember. What follows is a trippy thriller full of twists and turns, where everything you think you know is thrown out the window. The performances from these three leads are excellent as expected. Boyle’s visual flare is still here, with some visually stunning (and gory/gut-wrenching) sequences. This is the first great film I’ve seen this year.
