FOUR KENTS is a personal blog from me, Kent.

Taylor Swift once said "I write songs, and my voice is just a way to get those lyrics across." Swift is a songwriter first, singer second. And, like Swift, I am a cinephile first, writer second. I am not a professional writer, nor have I received any formal training. But I write because I love movies and I enjoy the challenge of forcing myself to think critically about each film, why I like or dislike it, and putting it into words. I write reviews for my own enjoyment, and they act as a sort of time capsule, documenting my thoughts on each film at that exact point in time. It’s always interesting re-reading old reviews years later because sometimes I still feel the same way, while other times I may have a completely different opinion. That’s the beauty of art—it’s so subjective, and your interpretation of it, or its effect on you, can change depending on where you are in life.
