Jack the Giant Slayer | Review
Director Bryan Singer is pretty capable and reliable (X-Men, Superman Returns, Valkyrie) so it isn’t surprising his new movie is a rousing success! The film is a fun twist on the classic Jack and the Bean Stalk tale with thrilling action and violence. Sure, the giants don’t exactly look super realistic but the special effects are effective, especially with the 3D; there are moments where you’ll want to jump back because of how engaging the sequence is. Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson and Ewan McGregor are excellent leads, and Stanley Tucci is fun as always as the mustache-twirling villain. This is a really fun movie. Best way to see it is in IMAX 3D.
