2022 Outguess Kent Oscars Contest
Inspired by the late great Roger Ebert and his annual Outguess Ebert Oscar Contest, I started my very first Outguess Kent contest in 2013, offering 10 AMC Gold Pass tickets to anyone who predicts more Oscar winners than I did. That year, FIVE friends outguessed me, splitting the prize. Thankfully, in 2014, I made a comeback and correctly predicted 21 out of 24 winners, outguessing the closest contestant, a friend who correctly predicted 20 winners. I hosted the contest again for friends who attended my 2020 Oscar Viewing Party, once again defeating all of my friends :)
I am excited to announce the 2022 Outguess Kent Oscars Contest is now live! The rules, eligibility requirements, and prize details can be read below.
Rules and Eligibility Requirements
All contestants must…
Be friends with me (Kent), aka someone I know and/or am mutuals with (because I don’t want randos participating).
Make a donation (any amount) to the Asian Prisoner Support Committee, a community-based organization whose mission is to provide direct support to Asian and Pacific Islander (API) prisoners and to raise awareness about the growing number of APIs being imprisoned, detained, and deported.
Show proof of donation to the Asian Prisoner Support Committee by submitting a screenshot in the Outguess Kent Oscar Contest application form.
Submit your predictions in all 23 Academy Award categories, plus the two fan-voted awards, Oscars Fan Favorite and Oscars Cheer Moment.
If more than one person outguesses me, then the person with the most correct guesses will win the prize.
If more than one person outguesses me, and there is a tie, the person who entered the contest FIRST will win the prize.
Prize
The winner of the 2022 Outguess Kent Oscar Contest will receive $100 directly from me (Kent). While I encourage you to spend the prize money at your local movie theater, you are free to spend the money however you wish.
Deadline
The deadline to enter the contest and submit your predictions is Sunday, March 27th at 12 PM ET.
The 94th Academy Awards will be airing live on Sunday, March 27th at 8 PM ET.
